DEBORAH K. PHILLIPS, M.D.
Deborah K. Phillips, M.D. is a board certified dermatologist with special interests in Laser Medicine and Cosmetic Dermatology. She is a native of Central Kentucky who completed her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio, Texas. After medical school, she went on to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas for an internship in Internal Medicine. She was then granted a dermatology residency position at MD Anderson Cancer Center in conjunction with the University of Texas and served as chief resident.
After practicing dermatology in Texas for over 18 years, Dr. Phillips returned to her native Kentucky to work at Commonwealth Dermatology and eventually became one of the founding members of Lexington Dermatology & Laser Center, PSC. Over the years, she has expanded her services to include not only surgical treatment for skin cancer, but a whole variety of laser and cosmetic services. Dr. Phillips provides treatments using Botox, Dysport, Restylane®, Restylane® Silk, Restylane® Lyft, Juviderm, Radiesse, Sculptra, Belotero, Voluma, Intense Pulse Light, Fractional Resurfacing, & Laser Hair Reduction.
Dr. Phillips is also a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She has also been named an “Expert Injector” by New Beauty Magazine in conjunction with the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
KIRSTEN M. ADAIR, PA-C
Kirsten M. Adair, PA-C is a native of Lexington, Kentucky. She earned a bachelor of science degree with honors from the University of Kentucky in 1996. Thereafter, Kirsten graduated magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky Physician Assistant Program. Kirsten has practiced as a Physician Assistant specializing in dermatology since 1999.
Kirsten enjoys all facets of general medical dermatology including mole evaluation, skin cancer screening, acne, rosacea, and eczema. In the cosmetic realm, Kirstenʼs special interests include sclerotherapy (treating leg veins with saline or Asclera injections), & performing Dysport & Xeomin injections.
Kirsten is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is also licensed by the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure and is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
GRETCHEN B. CLIBURN, PA-C
Gretchen B. Cliburn, PA-C is a native of Lexington, Kentucky and a founding member of Lexington Dermatology & Laser Center. After earning a bachelor of science degree in biology, she graduated from the University of Kentucky Physician Assistant Program in 1997. Before Lexington Dermatology & Laser, Gretchen saw patients at Commonwealth Dermatology. She also worked for 12 years at a local family practice prior to specializing in the field of dermatology.
Gretchen is interested in all aspects of dermatology including medical, cosmetic and patient education. She performs full skin exams, skin cancer screenings and treatment of a variety of skin conditions including acne, rosacea, eczema and rashes. Gretchen also performs Xeomin & Dysport injections & sclerotherapy.
Gretchen is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is also a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Sarah Dougherty, PA-C
Sarah Dougherty, PA-C is a native of Lexington, Kentucky. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Centre College in 2009. Sarah completed the Physician Assistant Program at Wake Forest University in 2013. Before joining our practice, Sarah practiced Adult Cardiology and Women’s Health.
Sarah has an interest in all aspects of dermatology including medical, cosmetic, and patient education. She performs full skin exams, skin cancer screenings, and treats a variety of skin conditions including acne, rosacea, eczema, and rashes. Sarah also performs Dysport & Xeomin injections, various fillers, and microneedling treatments.
Sarah is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is also a member of the Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Micaela Benton, PA-C
Micaela Benton, PA-C is a native of Lexington, KY who now lives in Richmond with her husband and two dogs. She graduated with honors from the University of Kentucky in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She then graduated from the University of Kentucky Physician Assistant Program in 2022. During her time in the UKPA program, Micaela trained at Lexington Dermatology & Laser Center and is excited to join the team as a provider!

SANDY BOONE, RN
Did you know we offer complimentary skin care consultations? Our nurse Sandy Boone has over forty years of nursing experience; fourteen of those in the field of cosmetic dermatology, Sandy is here to help us in addressing your cosmetic concerns. Sandy works in conjunction with our providers to formulate a plan specifically for you! In addition to skin care consultations, Sandy preforms many of the laser procedures in the office as well as peels for acne & skin rejuvenation, Micro Derm Abrasions, Facials and Micro Needling.

Amanda Massey is our aesthetician! Amanda graduated from Katharos School of Aesthetics in June of 2020. Amanda performs dermaplaning, waxing, tinting, microdermabrasions, microneedling, facials, peels, toenail lasers, laser hair reduction, lite laser peels, & cosmetic consultations.
Starting May 2021, Amanda will be seeing patients on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Call our office to schedule your treatment with her today!
