Love Your Skin

Love Your Skin

Sandy Boone, RN

Love is in the air this February and we would like to give you tips on how to give your skin love. Follow these tips for healthy skin.

Skin Exams

Have an annual Full Skin Exam with a dermatologist yearly and do self-exams frequently. Skin cancer is very treatable when caught early. If you find concerning spots or moles that have changed in size or color, get in to see a dermatologist right away.

Stop Tanning

Natural skin is in! Learn to love your skin no matter how light it is! Tanning leads to premature aging, wrinkles and skin cancer. Up to 90% of the visible changes commonly attributed to aging are caused by the sun.

Practice Healthy Sleep Habits & A Healthy Diet

Lack of sleep can cause blemishes, puffy eyes and premature signs of aging so it’s important to get at least 7 hours of restful sleep at night. Never go to sleep with your makeup on. Don’t forget to eat a balanced, healthy diet and drink plenty of water. Foods that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants and other vitamins are good for healthy skin.

Treat your Skin with Love

Love your skin and treat it good! We recommend using daily sunscreen even in the winter months and a prescription strength sunscreen that will block UVA & UVB rays when you are outside or in the sun. We carry several types of sunscreens that are great for all skin types and are sheer so you don’t even know you are wearing it.

In addition to sunscreen we recommend you use cleansers, moisturizers and other products that are best suited for your skin type.

We would love to help you obtain the glowing, healthy skin you have always wanted. We offer complimentary skin care consultations to help you maximize what products will work best for your skin and budget. Call our office at 859.226.0206 today to set up your full skin exam or complimentary skin care consultation.

xoxo,  Sandy
